Amitabh Bachchan recalls how he shut down disrespectful London shopkeeper who assumed he can’t afford a tie: ‘Pack 10 of these for me’

Recounting his reaction, Big B said, “I looked right back at him and responded, ‘Pack ten of these for me.’” The actor added, “It’s moments like these that remind me of the importance of showing our Indian spirit and confidence, even when faced with condescension. We sometimes need to make it clear that we are not to be underestimated.”

During the same episode, Amitabh Bachchan also revealed his fear of cockroaches. The actor shared a personal anecdote about his failed attempt to trap a cockroach once. He said that he once managed to trap a cockroach inside a bottle filled with insecticide, but it flew out a week later. Big B said, “Woh toh marte hin nanhi hai (They just do not die).”

Kaun Banega Crorepati’s season 16 was launched on August 12 on Sony Entertainment Television. The hit show airs on weekdays at 9 pm. Amitabh Bachchan was recently seen in the Prabhas-starrer sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD. He will soon be seen in the Rajinikanth-starrer Vettaiyan.
