New batch of Epstein files released: The US Justice Department on Tuesday released another batch of files related to deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein from its investigations into the late financier. The latest release comes after US President Donald Trump’s administration published a large trove of Epstein files recently in its attempt to comply with the new law which has forced the federal government to disclose the details related to the disgraced sex offender.
President Donald Trump’s name has appeared in the latest set of files which includes references to flight records related to Epstein’s private plane. However, the federal authorities have not accused the Republican president of criminal wrongdoing related to Epstein, CNN reported.

The law, which mandates the Congress to release the Epstein files, overwhelmingly passed the Congress last month despite Trump administration’s efforts to keep the documents sealed. The latest files released on Sunday overnight by the department comprises around 29,000 pages which includes photos and a dozen of video footage reportedly shot inside a prison. Notably, Epstein was found in 2019 after he died by suicide in a New York jail.
The new Epstein files released by the justice department show Donald Trump’s travel record in an email wherein the Republican leader was listed as a passenger on Epstein’s private jet. The email written by an assistant US attorney from the Southern District of New York on January 8, 2020 states Donald Trump “traveled on Epstein’s private jet many more times than previously has been reported (or that we were aware).” The sender and recipient’s name of the email has been redacted by the department.
On one of the flights, the only passengers listed in the flight record shows Trump, Epstein and a 20-year-old woman whose name has been redacted. “On two other flights, two of the passengers, respectively, were women who would be possible witnesses in a Maxwell case,” the documents stated. Notably, Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence for helping Epstein who sexually abused underage girls.
The US Justice Department has defended President Donald Trump’s after the latter’s name appeared multiple times in the recently released files related to deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The department urged caution on some files which references Trump but fails to specify which ones.
The Department of Justice has officially released nearly 30,000 more pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.

In a post on X, the justice department wrote, “The Department of Justice has officially released nearly 30,000 more pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. Some of these documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims made against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election.”
The department further added, “To be clear: the claims are unfounded and false, and if they had a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already.”
