Ahead of the inauguration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has bought a plot in the city. As per a latest report, senior Bachchan will be building a home in the “global spiritual capital” Ayodhya.
Hindustan Times reported that Big B has bought a plot in The Sarayu, a 7-star plotted development in Ayodhya by the Sarayu River. It will be developed by Mumbai-based developer The House of Abhinandan Lodha and is located 15 minutes away from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. As per the report, the actor has bought the 10,000 square feet of land for Rs 14.5 crore.
Talking about his latest purchase, Bachchan said in a statement, “I am looking forward to embarking on this journey with The House of Abhinandan Lodha for The Sarayu in Ayodhya, a city that holds a special place in my heart. The timeless spirituality and cultural richness of Ayodhya have forged an emotional connection that transcends geographical boundaries.”

He continued, “This is a start of a heartfelt journey into the soul of Ayodhya, where tradition and modernity seamlessly co-exist, creating an emotional tapestry that resonates with me deeply. I am looking forward to building my home in the global spiritual capital.” The housing project is scheduled to be completed by March 2028.
Bachchan, along with a host of personalities from entertainment, sports, politics and business spheres, has been invited to attend the consecration ceremony. Other celebs invited to attend the event include Rajinikanth, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan, Dipika Chikhalia, Arun Govil, Kangana Ranaut and many others.
The Pran Pratishtha or consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol will be preceded by a week-long ritual beginning January 16. Earlier, PM Modi had appealed to the people of the country to celebrate Diwali in their houses on January 22 when the Ram Temple would be consecrated.
