Alia Bhatt to step into Kriti Sanon’s shoes for Rohit Shetty film with Shah Rukh Khan and Varun Dhawan?

Rohit Shetty was keen to bring on the ‘Student of the Year’ and ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ pair back on screen.

Rohit Shetty’s next with superstar Shah Rukh Khan is in news again; this time for the lead actress opposite the two actors.

It was reported that SRK and Varun Dhawan will play brothers in the yet-untitled movie. While the actress, who can play SRK’s love interest is still undecided, talks were on to zero in on the leading lady for Varun Dhawan.

Kriti Sanon, reportedly, had backed out of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Singh Is Bling’ to make herself available for this venture when she was approached and the makers of the movie went ahead and signed Amy Jackson as the perfect replacement for her.

However, it’s said that now Alia Bhatt is also being considered to be cast opposite Varun Dhawan, as Rohit Shetty was keen to bring on the ‘Student of the Year’ and ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ pair back on screen.

According to a report published in Pune Mirror, “A week ago, Alia was given a narration and she’s keen to feature in the SRK-starrer tentatively titled ‘Dilwale’. She will take a final call in the coming week as she’s already committed to Shakun Batra’s next, which rolls around the same time,” the source added. “The makers, including Shah Rukh Khan, are clear that they will give priority to Alia over Kriti if the former can squeeze out the dates, which in all probability, she will.”

It remains to be seen whether Alia steps into Kriti’s shoes and makes it a catch 22 situation for the latter.
