‘Akshay Kumar is a punctual man, always worried while working with him; Salman Khan arrives at 1 pm’: director Anees Bazmee

Director Anees Bazmee spoke about his experience of working with Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.

Anees Bazmee has directed some really popular Hindi films like Singh Is Kinng, No Entry, Welcome, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 among others and has worked with the likes of Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn in his many years in the movies. In a recent interview, when asked about his working experience with Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, the director had some insights to share. Salman’s infamous for being tardy but Akshay is known for his punctuality and Anees shared that working with the two stars is a completely different experience altogether.

“Akshay is a very punctual man. We are always worried when working with him because if he says that we’ll start working at 7 am, then he will be there at 7 am. And we are not used to waking up at 6-7 am. So we have to work hard when working with him. But we really enjoy that he comes on time and he finishes up all the work,” Anees shared with Lehren Retro. Akshay has previously shared in many interviews that he likes to start his day at the break of dawn so he can wind up early.

Anees also spoke about working with Salman and said that the actor likes to start his day a little later and that works well for Anees. “Sometimes, we are too relaxed with Salman bhai because he will show up at around 1 pm, will have lunch but then he will stay until the end of the day. I have trained under Raj Kapoor where we would work all night long, so I really like it when the day starts at 2 pm.”

Anees said that even though both actors have a different style of routine, he enjoys them both equally. “But every actor is different so we have to start according to them. And once in a while, when you change your routine and work, it’s really enjoyable. I have equal fun working with Akshay and Salman,” he said.

With Salman Khan, Anees has worked in films like No Entry and Ready. And with Akshay Kumar, Anees has worked in Welcome, Singh Is Kinng, and Thank You.
