Adipurush song ‘Jai Shri Ram’ shows Prabhas leading vaanar sena to Raavan’s Lanka, reveals unseen footage from film

On Saturday, the makers of the highly-anticipated film Adipurush unveiled its first song, titled ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, Adipurush has been making headlines for a while now, for its poorly received VFX, which caused a delay in its release. The film now debut next month, with refined effects, which can be glimpsed in the new music video.

The song offers a glimpse into the film’s emotional moments and action scenes. From the majestic portrayal of Hanuman, who sets ablaze Raavan’s (Saif Ali Khan) kingdom, to the historic sight of Ram and his mighty vaanar sena paving a path to Lanka across the ocean, the song effectively sets the tone for the epic film. The music video also shows Sita (Kriti Sanon) as she eagerly awaits Ram’s arrival in Lanka. The song also provides a glimpse of significant characters such as Lakshman, Sugriv, and Vali. 

Music composer duo Ajay-Atul, who unveiled the song at a launch event on Saturday, revealed that they composed it in just 4 days. They said, “This is a song that will transport people to the world of our film. This is the first song we composed for Adipurush. We heard his (Om Raut’s) vision and we met him again after 4 days. The name has so much power that the power and devotion for Jai Shri Ram came from within. We didn’t know how we composed this song in 4 days, and this had never happened before with us. We had to show the power in the score and it has just come. We wanted to do a marching effect.”

Helmed by Om Raut, Adipurush will be released in theatres on June 23.
