Abhishek Bachchan, who is gearing up for the release of his next film, director Shoojit Sircar’s I Want to Talk, recently shared a touching memory involving his daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, which inspired his performance in the upcoming movie. He recounted how, as a child, Aaradhya had a book in which one character described “help” as the most courageous word in the world. Abhishek explained that this idea resonated deeply with him, as asking for help reflects a willingness to persevere and face challenges head-on. “That means you are not ready to give up. I will do whatever it takes to carry on,” Hindustan Times quoted him as saying.

He connected this perspective to his character, Arjun, in I Want to Talk, explaining, “He is not afraid to ask for help. He is not afraid to go into the hospital. He is not giving up. Somebody who has dealt with the things that he has dealt with and continues to deal with, it’s very easy to be fed up after 31 odd years and say ‘bahut ho gaya hai, abhi aur nahi karna hai‘ (I’ve had enough, I don’t want to go on). But no, the fact that he is still at it, still trying… is what makes him truly courageous.”

I Want to Talk marks Abhishek’s first collaboration with Shoojit Sircar, one of Bollywood’s most admired contemporary filmmakers. Shoojit’s work, including his acclaimed collaborations with Amitabh Bachchan in Piku (2015) and Gulabo Sitabo (2020), has been celebrated widely. Notably, Amitabh earned his record-setting fourth National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in Piku.
