Actors Abhishek Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has maintained a dignified silence even as speculation claims not everything is fine with their marriage. The rumours began after Aishwarya and daughter Aaradhya arrived separately from the rest of the Bachchan family — Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek and Shweta Bachchan Nanda — during the Ambani wedding.

Over the weekend, a deepfake video of Abhishek started circulating, purporting that he and Aishwarya have separated. In response to the AI-generated video, several publications claimed that Abhishek has responded to the video during a media interaction, saying that the two are ‘still married’.

“I don’t have anything to say to you all about that. You all have blown the entire thing out of proportion, sadly. I understand why you do it. You have to file some stories. It’s okay, we’re celebrities, we have to take it Still Married, Sorry,” Abhishek was quoted as saying while showing his wedding ring in the reports. However, the video where Abhishek made the statement is from 2016, following the premiere of Aishwarya’s film, Sarbjit. The Dhoom actor was responding to a question whether ‘things were not good’ between him and Aishwarya.

The fake video, posted on a fan account, on Instagram, the Guru actor can be seen announcing his divorce from Aishwarya Rai. The actor is heard saying, “This July, Aishwarya and I have decided to get divorced.” Netizen, unsure about the authenticity, noted that the sync in the video is not right and therefore claimed it to be false. The couple has maintained silence over this.

This isn’t the first time the couple has been in the news for their divorce rumors. Similar speculation arose when they made separate appearances at the recent Ambani wedding and after Abhishek liked an Instagram post about divorce. However, at the wedding, the couple was spotting sitting together inside the venue as they witnessed the wedding rituals. Aaradhya was also seen with them during the ceremony.

Aishwarya recent New York vacation with daughter Aaradhya Bachchan without Abhishek, further fueled these claims.

Despite the persistent rumours, Abhishek has consistently denied any trouble in their marriage. The couple, who worked in films Guru, Dhoom and Raavan together, tied the knot in 2007.
