Actor booked over complaint

Based on the complaint filed by actress Shruthi Hariharan, the police on Saturday registered an FIR against Arjun Sarja under Sections 354, 354 A, 506 and 509 of the IPC.

An actress who had reported sexual harassment by a senior on social media in the #MeToo wave has filed a complaint with Bengaluru police. Based on the complaint filed by actress Shruthi Hariharan, 29, the police on Saturday registered an FIR against Arjun Sarja, 54, under Sections 354, 354 A, 506 and 509 of the IPC.

The actress in a Facebook post had accused the actor of misbehaving with her on the sets of a Kannada film, Vismaya, where the two were the lead pair. Sarja claimed innocence and filed a Rs 5-crore defamation suit against Hariharan.
