TGBIE Class 12 exams can be taken by private students without college (Express Archive Photo/ representative)The private candidates from the Arts stream can appear for the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) in March 2026 without attending college, the Telangana Government Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) announced. These candidates must pay an exemption fee of Rs 500 to take the exam independently during the application process.
Applications can be submitted online through the official website — tgbie.cgg.gov.in, until November 17, 2025. Candidates who miss the initial deadline can still apply by paying a late fee of Rs 200 up to November 29.
Applicants should have scanned copies of essential documents ready for upload, including their SSC pass certificate, transfer certificate, and migration or eligibility certificate. The board has clarified that it will not accept applications sent by post or in person.
According to the official notification, any application missing required documents — such as the original qualifying exam certificates, transfer, or eligibility certificates (for non-Telangana SSC candidates) — will be rejected without further notice.
TGBIE also confirmed that practical and internal assessment tests in English (Part I) will continue as per the Practical Manual: A Handbook of Communicative English. These assessments, introduced for first-year students in IPE March 2024 and for second-year students in IPE March 2025, remain applicable to both General and Vocational streams.
— Candidates must have at least a one-year gap after passing SSC or its equivalent to appear for the first-year Intermediate exam.
— Those with a two-year or longer gap after SSC may take both first- and second-year Intermediate exams together.
— Students who failed second-year exams and wish to change their optional subjects — either from Science to Arts/Humanities or within Humanities — must seek attendance exemption.
— Candidates who have already passed both years may reappear for the Second Language as an additional subject.
— Students who completed SSC from boards outside Telangana must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from TGBIE, Hyderabad, and upload it with their online exemption form.
Private candidates appearing under exemption will write exams following the current syllabus prescribed for regular students.
