Advanced Placement Exam 2025: The registration for the 2025 Advanced Placement (AP) exam is now open. Candidates can apply online at the College Board website by November 15.
The AP programme is known for its rigorous curriculum and diverse course offerings and provides an opportunity for students to distinguish themselves in the competitive landscape of domestic and international university admissions. AP exams also enable high school students to showcase college-level academic skills and offer the potential to earn college credits at leading institutions worldwide.
Also, the adoption of AP scores for college credit is gaining traction in India, with Universal AI University, Karjat, Mumbai, recently becoming the first Indian university to accept AP credits officially.
– Registration deadline: November 15, 2024
– Exam schedule: AP exams will be administered in AP-authorised schools and test centers from May 5 to 9 and between May 12 and 16, 2025.
– Test centers: AP exams in India are managed by authorized test centers across the country, offering flexible options for students. Students should contact their preferred center for registration, fees, deadlines, and other details.
– Digital AP exams: The College Board will offer 28 AP exams digitally, with 16 being fully digital and 12 in a hybrid format. Students are required to bring their own approved devices.
AP exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5, and most US and Canadian colleges grant credit and/or advanced placement for scores of 3 and above. AP exams scores are also used in admissions globally. The composite scores are calculated from both multiple-choice and free-response sections, reflecting consistent achievement year after year. This rigorous assessment process allows students to demonstrate their understanding and mastery of subjects, ensuring they are well-prepared for their academic journeys.
