PSEB Punjab Class 10 Results 2023: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) declared the class 10 result on Friday. The girls bagged the first three positions in the state. The toppers spoke to The Indian Express to share about their performance.
Gagandeep Kaur, a student of Sant Mohan Das Memorial Senior Secondary School, Kot Sukhia, Faridkot who topped in the state by securing 100 per cent marks (650/650) hails from a farmers’ family and dedicated her success to her father. She also secured the cent per cent marks in her eighth class.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Gagandeep Kaur said that she did not take any tuition and is social media shy. “I hardly use the mobile phone, I used to study for 6/7 hours a day. My father always motivated me to do something special,” she said.
Gagandeep’s mother is a housewife while her younger brother is promoted to the class 10 this year. She also dedicated her success to her grandfather who passes away in January this year. “I wished he would have been alive, I miss him as he passes away just before my examination,” Gagandeep told The Indian Express.
Navjot, who dedicated her success to her mother who passed away. She is also from Sant Mohan Das Memorial Senior Secondary School, Kot Sukhia, Faridkot; used to sit on the same bench with her friend Gagandeep Kaur. Speaking to The Indian Express Navjot said that her mother was a government teacher and had died five years ago in a road accident. “She always wanted to see us performing well in our studies, I am happy that I topped,” she said. She further said that she wants to become a civil servant and shall opt for non-medical subjects in her next class.
Navjot’s father is a farmer, her elder sister studies in class 12 while her younger brother is in eighth class. She also told The Indian Express that she is a close friend of Gagandeep Kaur and they both used to study together and aimed to score high in the examination. “We are friends for the past two years, I am happy that we both performed well,” she added.
Harmandeep Kaur, a student of Government High School, Mandali in Mansa district bagged the third position in the state by securing 99.38 per cent marks (646/650). She dedicated her performance to her parents and the teachers who have motivated her to study hard.
“I want to be an IPS officer, in the next class I shall opt for non-medical,” she told The Indian Express. Speaking about her teachers, Harmandeep Kaur said that her head teacher used to bring her from home to her school.
About her family, Harmandeep Kaur said that her father is a farmer mother is a housewife. Harmandeep’s younger sister is studying in the ninth class. She also said that she did not take tuition.
