NEET PG is scheduled to be held in June 23. (Representative image. FIle)The National Medical Commission (NMC) has revised the date for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (Postgraduate) due to General Elections scheduled to be held from April 19 to June 1. Previously, NEET PG’s exam date was March 3, it was then rescheduled to July 7. However, the government has decided to prepone it. NEET PG will now be held on June 23.
The result will be announced by July 15, while the counselling for admission will be held from August 5 to October 15. The cut-off date for the purpose of eligibility to appear in the NEET PG 2024 will be out on August 15, 2024.
This announcement has irked doctors who were planning to appear for the exam. As per them,

The sudden change in exam schedule affects the mental health of students. NEET PG candidates have to re-plan their preparation accordingly. The government should try that once the dates are declared it shouldn’t change that shall help the students be motivated till the exam gets finished.
I am thankful to NMC that they have declared the new dates within a good span of time of the new scheduled date but such things must be avoided as much as possible.

As a working doctor, the multiple changes in the date of NEET PG 2024 are disturbing for me. It’s already hard to balance my duty and study. It has hampered my planning of the study routine and revision schedule. The sudden preponement of the exam has created panic among many of my classmates.
I would request that the government stick to the old NEET PG 2024 date. By this, doctors like me will be more prepared for the exam.

I am not happy with the preponement of NEET PG 2024 because it lessens the time to revise the syllabus. I am working in a rural hospital, and my duty is almost every day. It hampers my preparation and study. This change of date in NEET PG leads me into uncertainty. I don’t know if I will be prepared enough or if I will manage to get leave on my exam day. I would prefer the exam to be held in July.

These frequent changes in dates are causing confusion and anxiety among us. It’s also disrupting our studies as we’ve all planned our routines accordingly. A few of my batchmates have already taken a long preparation leave. They were told to join once the exams were over. Now, we all have to reapply for the exam preparation.
Many candidates or activists took to social media platform ‘X’ to express their dissatisfaction.
