The National Testing Agency on June 12 postponed the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2024, which was scheduled to be conducted on June 12 (Wednesday) from 2 to 5 pm. The reason behind the postponement of the exam has been stated as 'technical issues' by NTA. This exam was postponed after it had commenced at some centres. NTA claims that since there were a total of 66 subjects, there were "too many question papers to be uploaded and in that process we faced some technical issues. The technicians quickly realised that question papers for some centres were not getting uploaded, so we decided to postpone the exam," a senior NTA official told indianexpress.com. This year, 40,233 candidates registered for the NCET 2024. According to biometric registration data, approximately 29,000 candidates appeared for the examination at 292 centres located in about 160 cities across the country. A new date for the NCET 2024 will be announced soon through the official NCET portal. Once released, the new ate will be updated at the official website - ncet.samarth.ac.in NCET 2024 is designed for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in selected Central/State Universities/Institutions, including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges for the academic session 2024-25.
