Top NIRF Ranked Colleges in India 2023 Updates: The Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2023 Monday (June 5). Like previous years, IIT Madras has retained its position as the number 1 college under the overall category for the fifth consecutive year and the best engineering institute for the eighth consecutive year. The top management college is IIM-Ahmedabad, however, three engineering colleges are under the top 10 B-school category. Under the best university category, IISc Bangalore has topped the university rankings followed by JNU and Jamia Millia Islamia. Three private universities have also made it to the list. Meanwhile, AIIMS Delhi too, retains the number one position under the medical colleges category. “With 13 categories, this edition of NIRF is the largest in its scope to date,” says Anil Sahasrabuddhe, chairman, NBA. “We started NIRF with four categories. The aim was to improve the quality of higher education and help students make decisions. With the 8th edition, we now have 12 categories including 8 subject-specific rankings,” says Anil Kumar Nassa, member secretary of NBA (which prepares NIRF), at the event marking the release of NIRF rankings this morning
