As many as 6,163 students have scored 10 CGPA. While 2,793 schools of the total 11,458 schools have recorded a 100 per cent pass, 25 schools failed to have even a single student pass the exam.
A total of 4,84,370 students appeared for the SSC exams, which were marred in a controversy over a question paper leak on the first two days, between April 3 and 13.

Announcing the results on Wednesday, Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy thanked students for reposing faith in the state government amid a raging controversy over the question paper leak.
The students can apply for re-verification and recounting in the next 15 days. The SSC Advanced Supplementary Examinations are scheduled from June 14 to June 22, and students can apply for the same by paying the exam fee till 26 May.
“It is saddening that some students have resorted to suicide after the results of intermediate exams were announced yesterday. I appeal to all students and parents of those who could not pass to prepare well and take the option of advanced supplementary exams starting June 14,” she said.
Girls have performed better than boys, securing a pass percentage of 88 per cent as compared to 84.68 per cent of boys who secured a pass. Exams this year were held with a 100 per cent syllabus compared to a 70 per cent syllabus last year. Students took 6 papers as compared to 11 last year.

The highest pass percentage among different categories of schools was secured by Telangana State Residential Schools, which recorded a pass of 98.25 percent. The lowest, however, was 72.39 percent, secured by government schools.
Among the districts, Nirmal recorded the highest with 99 percent pass. The lowest of 59.46 percent, was recorded by the Vikarabad district. With respect to the performance of schools in terms of medium of education, English medium schools recorded 90.5 percent, followed by Urdu (73.45%) and Telugu (72.58%)
TS SSC exam controversy
This year, the Telangana SSC Board Examinations were marred in controversy from the first day itself after the question papers on the first and the second day found their way to local WhatsApp groups as the exams progressed in the morning.
After day one’s incident, Vikarabad District Collector C Narayana Reddy suspended two exam invigilators, S Bandeppa and Sammappa, along with school chief superintendent Shiva Kumar and department officer K Gopal. Calling it an individual instance of malpractice by the invigilator and that the sanctity and integrity of the conduct of the exam were not compromised in the examination centre, the Director of School Education Department A Sridevasena had said that one invigilator at Centre No 24033, Government High School Number 1 in Tandur, S Bandeppa had taken a photograph of the question paper after the commencement of the exam and sent it to the WhatsApp number of another teacher Sammappa at about 9.37 am.

On the second day too, the exam paper made it to local WhatsApp groups and the incident was traced to the Zilla Parishad boys high school in the Uppal village of Kamalapur in the Hanamkonda district. The Warangal police arrested five people including a minor involved in the question paper leak on the second day, the Education Department suspended two officials and removed the invigilator from service for failing in their duties.
In this case, BJP’s state unit chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar was arrested from his home late in the night for his role in the conspiracy. Police maintained that Kumar had directed the others to leak photos of the question paper to defame the government. Though he was remanded in judicial custody, he was granted bail in the case a day later.
