This year, whether or not the overall pass percentage will increase is a big question, keeping in mind the performance of last year’s batch. In 2022, the overall percentage was 64.02 per cent, which was a massive drop from 100 per cent in 2021 and 2020.

The SSC exams were cancelled in 2021 and 2020, and the students’ performances were calculated on the basis of their internal assessments during class 10, and their past year’s performances from classes 7 to 9 were also be taken into account.

However, last year’s performance is still a massive decline from pre-Covid times as the overall pass percentage had not fallen under 90 per cent since 2016.

In 2019, the overall pass percentage was recorded as 94.88 per cent. The overall pass percentage for boys that year was 94.68 per cent and 95.09 per cent for girls.

In 2017, the overall pass percentage was recorded as the lowest in the past five years as 91.92 per cent, which was a decline from 93.26 per cent recorded in 2016.
