Lecture on global development challenges held in Chandigarh

The agenda of growth should be global agenda so that the income of the poorer people could be increased considerably, said Yoginder K Alagh.

Chancellor of the Central University of Gujarat and former Union minister Yoginder K Alagh on Wednesday said international forums like G-20 and G-8 should address issues like economical development of poorer people.

Dr Manmohan Singh Chair Professor at PU, Alagh was delivering the first JC Anand Memorial Lecture, “Global Development Challenges-Can India Give A Perspective” at ICSSR Seminar Hall.

The prestigious lecture was organised by the department of political science. PU vice- chancellor Arun Kumar Grover presided over the lecture.

The agenda of growth should be global agenda so that the income of the poorer people could be increased considerably, Alagh added.

In his oration, Alagh began by recalling that Independent India had a tradition of playing a proactive role in shaping global development agenda.
