KCET Results 2023 (OUT) Updates: Over 2.03 lakh students eligible for Engineering seats

In B Pharma, a total of 2,06,191 candidates are eligible for the available seats, out of which 97,431 are boys and 1,08,760 are girls. 

The toppers of the B Pharma stream are:

Pratheeksha R, 97.2%, Bengaluru

Madhav Soorya Tadepalli, 96.6%, Bengaluru 

Pratheeksha R is the topper of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences stream and Pharma D (Pharmacy ). She secured the second position in BSc Nursing and Veterinary Science 

Regarding the confusion and claims made by students, a KEA official clarified that the qualifying examination marks would not have been considered if the candidate has entered the wrong student number during the application process. In the case of CBSE and ICSE students, the candidates are supposed to manually enter the QE marks and not attach the mark sheet as a PDF document. The KEA will also upload a fresh link for candidates to re enter the QE marks today. Post which, the rankings will be announced in the next two days.

Yadgir one of the most backward region in Karnataka has outperformed Bengaluru by securing 88% pass percentage in Engineering. Bengaluru’s pass percentage in engineering stood at 83 %. This year, no candidate scored 60 in physics and chemistry in CET. However, four students in Maths and 138 students in Biology scored 60. Confusion at Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) headquarters as parents and students gather there. Some candidates are claiming that did not get their rankings. Students complained that their qualifying examination marks have not been considered for ranking. However KEA responded that a fresh link will be sent for candidates to upload the class 12 marks. Kumar wants to use technology and innovation to help people suffering with neuro divergent disorders, like autism, down syndrome among others. Vignesh Nataraj Kumar from Bengaluru has topped the KCET 2023 exam with 97.8 per cent.

A total of 261610 candidates had appplied for the KCET 2023 exams this time, out of which 244345 candidates had appeared for the exam.

This time, KEA stated that those candidates whose RD (receipt generated) numbers in  KCET or UG CET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) 2023 are mismatched will be considered under the general merit quota if the same is not rectified before the scheduled deadline of June 12, 11 am. Read full report here

As per the official announcement, the scorecards for KCET 2023 will be released today. Karnataka’s Minister of Higher Education CN Ashwath Narayan will announce the results via a press conference at 9:30 am.

The exam was conducted on May 20 and 21. The provisional answer key was released on May 26 and candidates were given time to raise objections till May 30.

Nearly 2.6 lakh students registered for the KCET 2023 exam out of which 1.4 lakh were girls and 1.21 lakh were boys. The exam was conducted at 592 centres across the state. Out of the 592 centres, 121 centres were located in Bengaluru.

State Minister for Higher Education, Dr. MC Sudhakar will release the results of Karnataka CET 2023 in the premises of Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) at 18th Cross, Malleshwaram, Bangalore. The results will be declared at 9.30 am on June 15.

Once the result is declared, qualified candidates will be called in for counselling rounds. KCET is a gateway for admission into professional courses for government share of seats in Medical, Dental, Indian systems of medicine and Homeopathy, Engineering / Architecture Courses, Farm Science i.e. BSc (Agriculture), BSc (Sericulture), BSc (Horticulture), BSc (Forestry), BSc Agri Bio Tech, BHSc (Home Science), among other professional courses.

Out of the 2.6 lakh students who have written CET-23 mismatching of RD numbers was identified in details submitted by over 80,000 applicants. Given this, KEA facilitated editing from June 7. Candidates whose RD numbers mismatch would not be eligible to claim seats for professional courses under the reservation quota.
