JEE Main 2024: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar uses the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main ranks to admit students to their undergraduate engineering programmes. NIT Srinagar offers undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes in engineering.
All NITs hold separate counselling for admission to BTech courses; counselling for this is done through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). For securing an admission to an NIT, 50 per cent of the seats are kept reserved for students from within the state in which the NIT is located, while the remaining seats are reserved for the ones from other states across the country. In case of open and unreserved seats, candidates those from outside the state will require higher JEE Main rank.
JoSAA holds around six rounds of counselling every year and given below are the round 1 ranks at which NIT Srinagar admitted students to its BTech in Computer Science and Engineering programme in the past five admission cycles.
NIT Srinagar opening cut-off ranks for CSE admission for the Jammu and Kashmir reserved seats have dropped in 2023. The cut-off in 2022 for the open category seats was 11507 but it dropped to 15838 in 2023. In 2021, the NIT Srinagar opening cut-off for the open category JK seats was even higher. It was 1640 for the open category seats.

NIT Srinagar has been ranked 82nd in the Ministry of Education’s NIRF 2023 rankings by scoring 58.44 in Teaching, Learning and Resources out of 100, 26.62 in Research and Professional Practice out of 100, 64.89 in Graduation Outcomes (GO), 59.67 in Outreach and Inclusivity and 12.30 in perception out of 100.
