IIT-Madras Pravartak, BodhBridge launch free entrepreneurship training for school, college students

Students can optionally register for a certification exam with nominal fee and receive a performance grade certificate from IITM Pravartak.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation is partnering with BodhBridge Education to launch two innovative and free entrepreneurship training programmes for students and working professionals, aimed at nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs in India. BodhBridge Education is a company run by an IIT Madras alumnus.

The first batch will start on November 1, 2025. The last date to register is October 28. There will be regular training programmes every month for school and college students. Students can enrol for free on the website – bodhbridge.iitmpravartak.org.in.

The initiatives — “From Students to Startup” for college students (UG and PG) and working professionals, and “Discover the Entrepreneur in You” for school students — are being offered in online mode and provide live interactive sessions from experts, course materials and case studies, besides access to the recorded sessions. The training programme and the material are offered free of cost.

From Students to Startups will introduce undergraduates and postgraduates to entrepreneurship, covering problem identification, idea validation, business modeling, market research, funding, marketing, and compliance essentials.

The ‘Discover the Entrepreneur in You’ will comprise of live online program for Classes 7 to 12 to develop creativity, problem-solving, leadership, and basic business skills through engaging case studies.

Students can optionally register for a certification exam with nominal fee and receive a performance grade certificate from IITM Pravartak.

Adding that India is witnessing unprecedented growth in startups and innovation, the official statement said: “Structured exposure to entrepreneurship remains limited among students. These programs aim to bridge that gap by encouraging problem-solving, creativity, leadership, and adaptability — skills crucial for future employability.”

Elaborating on the initiative, Balamurali Shankar, Chief Knowledge Officer, IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, said: “By introducing entrepreneurship training at both school and college levels, IITM Pravartak and BodhBridge aim to build a generation of confident, innovative, and socially responsible leaders.”

“Entrepreneurship education helps students gain a competitive advantage in life and career. It fosters resilience, confidence, purpose, and prepare them not only to launch ventures but also to succeed in any field. Students trained in entrepreneurship are more likely to start businesses in the future, contributing to economic growth and societal progress,” he added.
