CBSE Class 12 results: At 91.84, Chandigarh region’s pass percentage better than national average, Panchkula’s lower

Nationally, the overall pass percentage has dropped from 92.71% last year to 87.33% this year. For Panchkula region, which includes the states of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, the pass percentage stood at 86.93%.

As the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the results of the Class 12 All India Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (AISSE)-2022-23 Friday, the overall pass percentage in the Chandigarh region stood at 91.84 per cent. The CBSE’s Chandigarh region includes the state of Punjab and Union Territories (UTs) Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

Nationally, the overall pass percentage has dropped from 92.71% last year to 87.33% this year. For Panchkula region, which includes the states of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, the pass percentage stood at 86.93%.

In line with the national trend, both Chandigarh and Panchkula regions have witnessed a lower pass percentage compared to last year. Last year, Chandigarh region had recorded a pass percentage of 95.98%, which means this year’s figure is down 4%. However, Panchkula region witnessed a steeper decline of 7% compared to 94.08% last year.

As per the detailed result statistics released by CBSE’s Chandigarh regional office, 94.36% girls cleared Class 12 exams from the region compared to 89.74% boys. As per the state-wise results, the overall pass percentage of UT Chandigarh stood at 86.10%, followed by Jammu & Kashmir at 95.08%, Ladakh at 95.32%, and Punjab at 93.06%. While 82.58% candidates from government schools cleared the exams, 93.03% cleared from independent (private) schools.

In Panchkula region, 91.96% girls cleared the exams as compared to 83.40% boys. The overall pass percentage of Haryana stood at 86.48% and that of Himachal Pradesh at 93.54%. As per the detailed result of the Panchkula region, only 53.43% candidates from government schools cleared the exams compared to 92.27% from independent (private) schools.
