Bihar Board 12th Result 2025 Highlights: Results on March 25, pass percentage, toppers

This year, a total of 12,92,313 students appeared for the exam at 1,677 centres across Bihar. Among them, 6,41,847 girls and 6,50,466 boys registered for the BSEB Intermediate exam 2025.

The BSEB Class 12 scorecard will include the aggregate marks obtained by the candidate along with their division status (first, second, or third division).

The scorecard downloaded from the website is provisional. The official scorecard, signed by the Board, will be issued later and will be required for admission purposes.

The pass percentage last year was 87.21 per cent for all the streams combined. Last year, the pass percentages in science, arts, commerce and vocational are 87.80 per cent, 86.15 per cent, 94.88 per cent and 85.38 per cent, respectively. In 2023, the overall pass percentage for BSEB inter was 83.70 per cent, which was a three per cent increase from 2022’s 80.15 per cent. In 2021, the overall pass percentage was 78.04 per cent, which was a decline from 2020’s 80.44 per cent. Before this, the passing percentage was not crossing 80 per cent. In 2019, the overall pass percentage was 79.76 per cent and 52.95 per cent in 2018.

In the Arts stream, Tushar Kumar topped with an impressive 96.4%. In the Commerce stream, Priya Kumari secured the highest marks with 95.6%. Mritunjay Kumar topped in the science stream with 96.20% marks.

Once released, along with the Bihar board result, students can also access the marksheet. The Bihar Board exam scorecards will have details of the marks obtained in each of the subjects, the pass percentage, and the qualifying status. Students will be able to use the scores for higher education admission eligibility.

BSEB 2024 inter exams started on February 1 and continued till February 12, and the Bihar Board released the answer keys for the BSEB inter MCQ type questions on March 2. The result was declared within 21 days of the completion of exams.

A total of 6,34,480 candidates appeared in the Intermediate exam from the Arts stream, out of which a total of 2,47,908 were boys and 3,86,572 were girls. A total of 1,73.823 candidates got first division in Arts in the Inter exams in 2024. A total of 2,84,454 candidates had passed in second division and 88.344 candidates passed with third division. Thus, a total of 5.46.621 candidates passed the Arts stream, which was 86.15% of the candidates who appeared in the examination of this faculty.

To pass the Bihar board Class 12 exams, students will need 33 percent across the subjects in which they appeared in theory papers. For the BSEB Bihar practical component, the qualifying marks are 40 per cent.
