BSEB Bihar Board Class 12th Result: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is expected to announce the Class 12 board exam result date this week. Once the inter scores are announced in the press conference, the scorecards will be uploaded to the official BSEB website — secondary.biharboardonline.com.
The overall pass percentage for BSEB inter was 83.70 per cent, which was an increase from 2022’s 80.15 per cent. However, this was the first time the Bihar Board saw the pass percentage cross 80.5 per cent since 2018.

Last year too, girls scored better than boys. Commerce topper Somya Sharma and Rajneesh Kumar Pathak secured 95 per cent, Science topper Ayushi Nandan, earned 94.8 per cent and Arts/ Humanities topper Mohaddesa, scored 95 per cent.
Bihar Board’s Inter result has been seeing an increase in the pass percentage for the last three years, before which the board students were struggling to score even 80 per cent. The betterment in overall pass percentage rallies the board’s general intentions of improving the state board, in terms of quality of resources, study structure, pass percentage and more.

In 2022, BSEB Class 12 recorded a passing percentage of 80.15 per cent. The overall pass percentage of girls was 83.39 per cent, and 78.04 per cent for boys. In 2022, a total of 4,52,171 students got first division, 5,10,831 students bagged the second division while 99,550 students secured the third division. A total of 13,25,749 students appeared in the BSEB exam.
The pass percentage of 2022 was a significant increase from 2021 when a total of 78.04 per cent of students had cleared the intermediate exam. Out of 13,18,227 students who appeared for the intermediate (Class 12) exam, 6,36,432 were girls and 6,81,795 were boys. With a pass percentage of 80.57, girls fared much better than boys, whose pass percentage was 75.71 per cent in 2021 too. However, 2021 was a year of decline as the board saw the overall pass percentage fall from 80.44 per cent in 2020 to 78.04 per cent in 2021.
BSEB, however, had also seen an increase in the total number of registrations from 2020, when a total of 12,04,834 students appeared for the Class 12 exams out of which 6,56,301 were boys and 5,48,533 were girls. A total of 4,43,284 students have passed in the first class, 4,69,439 students in the second class and 56,115 students in the third class. In terms of the first divisions, Arts had 1.75 lakh students in the first division with commerce at 43,296 and science at 2,24,971 students in the first division.
Before 2020, the board was struggling to cross 80 per cent in the overall pass percentage of inter exams. In 2019, the total passing percentage for Class 12 marks was 79.76 per cent, and a total of 10.19 lakh students successfully passed the exam. In 2018, the overall pass percentage was 52.95 per cent.
