AIBE 20 Notification 2025: The Bar Council of India (BCI) is expected to issue the official notification for the 20th edition of the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) by this week, as per reports. Last year, the notification was released on September 23 with exams in December. The AIBE serves as a mandatory certification for law graduates seeking to practice in courts across India.
According to reports, the examination is likely to be conducted in the second or third week of December. The forthcoming AIBE notification will share key details, including eligibility criteria, syllabus, examination guidelines, and the complete registration timeline.

The official notification for AIBE will be released on the exam’s website — allindiabarexamination.com — as well as on the Bar Council of India’s main portal— barcouncilofindia.org. Candidates will be able to access and download the PDF directly from the “Notifications” or “Latest Updates” section once it goes live.
To be eligible for AIBE 20, candidates must hold an LLB degree from a recognised institution and be enrolled with a State Bar Council. Final-year law students are not permitted to apply.
As part of the registration process, applicants will be required to upload several documents, including their enrolment certificate, academic transcripts or degree certificate, a valid photo ID, recent passport-size photographs, and a digital signature. The AIBE 2025 passing marks for candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories is 45 per cent, while it is only 40 per cent for candidates belonging to SC, ST and disabled categories.
The 100 marks examination will cover various aspects of the law like: Constitutional law, Indian Pena Code, intellectual property, Evidence Act, Family Law, Administration Law, Cyber Law, Law related to Taxation, Law of Contract, Specific Relief, Property Laws, Negotiable Instrument Act, Land Acquisition Act, among others.
