Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has given a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh to a team of 112 personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) after they returned from Maha Kumbh duty in Prayagraj. For the Uttarakhand SDRF, Prayagraj Maha Kumbh was a learning experience in managing crowds as the hill state gears to host the 2027 Kumbh in Haridwar. The Dhami government aspires to make the religious event a grand affair. Earlier Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath had announced a bonus of Rs 10,000 each for all workers and employees who were on Maha Kumbh duty. Women First The Samajwadi Party is already campaigning keeping the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls in mind, it seems, going by what the party is promising for women voters. Considering the role women voters played in the Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi elections, the Akhilesh Yadav-led party has promised to introduce a “sttri sammaan-smriddhi yojana” if the party comes to power in 2027. The party has roped-in a TV actress for popularising the scheme among the masses. Besides the direct money transfer into the bank accounts of women, the scheme also promises mobile phones, laptops and setting up “PDA pathshalas” for their skill development. Sources in the party say the decision on the scheme as well as how to publicise it was entirely that of Akhilesh. Bengaluru Baithak The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha ‘baithak’, the meeting of the highest decision-making body of the RSS, is going to be held between March 21 and 23 in Bengaluru.
