Ahmed Patel’s son posts photos with Gujarat BJP chief: ‘He helps carry out development work’
The photographs, had soon became viral on social media, came with the caption “interacting with Shri @CRPaatil ji since the last few years”.

Faisal Ahmed Patel, the son of veteran Congress leader Ahmed Patel who died in 2020, courted controversy Wednesday when he uploaded two of his photographs with Gujarat BJP president C R Paatil on his Twitter handle.
The photographs, had soon became viral on social media, came with the caption “interacting with Shri @CRPaatil ji since the last few years”.
When contacted, Patel, who is not a member of the Congress, said: “Today, I uploaded two of my photos with Gujarat BJP president C R Paatil. We share warm and good relations and we talk casually… One of the photos is a year old and the other was taken around a week or 10 days ago.”
“I am active on social media, so I uploaded the photographs. There is no other intention,” he said.
Asked why he has been in touch with Paatil, Patel said: “The purpose of keeping relations with C R Paatil is that he would actively help in carrying out development works undertaken by our family in Ankleshwar, Bharuch and in Gujarat. I will continue to bond with him.”
“I have been carrying out development works for the poor people in Ankleshwar town with my sister Mumtaz for the last 10 to 12 years. I am following my father’s wish to work for infrastructure development, universal healthcare and employment, among others.”
Asked whether he plans to join politics, Patel said, “I am not a member of Congress but I follow the party’s secular ideology. If the Congress high command says, I will definitely join politics.”
