World Circus Day celebrated

World Circus Day was celebrated on Saturday in the presence of artistes of Rambo Interntaional Circus here. This was the first time the World Circus Day was celebrated,said a press note.

Artistes of Rambo Circus,which is presently on in Kalyani Nagar,participated in a rally from the venue of the circus up to Big Cinemas Theatre. While clown artistes performed acrobatics,Russian and African artistes performed various feats.

The artistes were felicitated as the rally returned to the venue. A photograph of the founder of circus in India,the late Vishnupant Chhatre,was garlanded. Clown artistes of Rambo Circus felicitated Kalpana and Ajay Chhatre,Vilas Dhotre,grandson of international circus artiste Damu Dhotre,proprietor of Rambo Circus Sujeet Dileep,promoter of the circus Prakash Jambhulkar and Munnabhai of circus canteen.

Praveen Walimbe,authro of Circus Vishwa,delivered a lecture on history of circus on the occasion,the note said.
