Compiled by Texas-based Global Language Monitor that observes the internet,media and so on the word Twitter has been voted the top English word. Paradoxically it might restrict words on the post however the word seems to be known all over.
The social networking site that has helped develop a new vocabulary of its own and has all probable activities posted by a layman to a celebrity has indeed been in news for many reasons. I have been a regular visitor to Facebook,Orkut and Twitter and the words like poking on wall,scrapping and of course twitting and twitter is very common in my day today life, says Sonali Jadhav,a student of mass communication for whom twitting ois a routine.
Whenever I want to tell my friends to message me,I often ask to tweet or to scrap instead of mailing or messaging. Its an amazing experience using these types of words because it makes you feel trendy and invouge, says Mini Tuteja a student of College of Computer Science.
