The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB),Pune on Friday arrested a woman police sub inspector Sangita Pravin Jadhav (30) of Hadapsar police station while accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000.
Sharad Nanabhau More,a resident of Shivajinagar,had lodged the complaint with the ACB.
According to the ACB,Jadhav was investigating a cheating case about a land in Hadapsar area. While investigating the details about the 7/12 extract documents of this land,Jadhav called More to the Hadapsar police station on Thursday. Jadhav said that she would be arresting More in the cheating case alleging that he had prepared bogus documents of the land.
She demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from More for not arresting him in the case. Later she agreed to settle the matter for Rs 30,000. More said that he would give her the money on Friday. He then filed a complaint against Jadhav at the Pune ACB office.
A team of ACB comprising deputy superintendent P B Ghanwat,inspectors B R Patil,S M Belsare,B R Bhosale,havaldar D P Kamble,naik Moreshwar Inamdar,Sangita Savarkar laid a trap at the Hadapsar police station on Friday. The ACB sleuths arrested Jadhav red-handed while accepting the money from More. Inspector Belsare is investigating the case further.
Vishwas Pandhare,Superintendent of ACB said that the operation was successfully done within 15 hours after receiving complaint from More.
The ACB has appealed the people to come up with complaints against the corrupt government servants.
