The valedictory function for Army officers undergoing tank technology course concluded recently at Military Institute of Training (MILIT). The ceremony was presided over by Lt Gen R P Dastane,DCIDS (Ops),HQ,Integrated Defence Staff,who was the chief guest. Also present were Air Vice Marshal P P Khandekar,commandant and director,and the faculty members of MILIT.
The General officer gave an inspiring lecture to student officers and congratulated them for successful completion of the 10-month course. The General officer stressed on the need to employ the power of technology and use it to gain tactical leverage on the battleground. The ceremony concluded with awards to the meritorious officers, stated a press release issued by the Press Information Bureau (defence wing).
Major Vijay Kishore Maletha of the Second Lancers Regiment was awarded the Armoured Corps Gold Medal and Rolling Trophy for standing first in the order of merit. For best all round student officer,Maj Avnish Kumar of 68 Armoured Regiment,was awarded the Major Neeraj Sinha Memorial Trophy.
The tank technology course is conducted annually at MILIT,Girinagar,and imparts the young officers of the mechanised forces technological know-how of latest technologies. It prepares the budding officers to face the challenges on the ever-evolving battlefield.
