Travel agencies in the city are not keen on offering package deals to the public to watch the upcoming football World Cup in South Africa,owing to poor response.

Travel agencies in the city are not keen on offering package deals to the public to watch the upcoming football World Cup in South Africa,owing to poor response.

While most football lovers will prefer to watch the matches in the comfort of their homes,there are a few passionate supporters who will be making the trip to South Africa.

Ishan Agarwal is one such fan,who will be leaving on June 18 to watch a few of the pre-quarterfinal matches. The 22-year-old currently works at Bajaj Auto as a finance trainee and has been a keen football fan for sometime. He is a regular viewer of the English Premier League and his favourite club is Chelsea. He is delighted that he will be able to witness some of his favourite players live. “I will be going to watch three pre-quarterfinal matches and will be supporting Spain to win the World Cup”,he said.

Siddharth Singhal is another ardent football fan who will be watching the World Cup live. He will be arriving in time to catch both the semifinals but will miss out on the final as tickets were very hard to come by. Singhal is a Brazil supporter and will be hoping that he will be able to watch them play in the semifinals. “This is my first World Cup and I can’t wait to watch it”,he said. Singhal has been involved with football for a while now and has played the sport at a local level.

He also coaches youngsters at the Soccernova football Academy at Koregaon Park when he is not busy with courses in CommunicationDesign in the Symbiosis Institute of Design. Singhal is also an EPL fan and his favourite team is Chelsea,too.
