Pune: Traffic changes in place for Metro Line inauguration tomorrow

As stated in the press release, parking will not be allowed on the road between Jedhe Chowk and Bajaj statue from 7 am onwards.

Pune city police have made certain changes in traffic for VIPs ahead of the inauguration of Shivajinagar to Swargate Metro Line on Sunday.

A press release issued by deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Amol Zende said that in order to prevent traffic jams and inconvenience to commuters during the Metro line’s inauguration, changes in the flow of traffic and parking arrangements were being made on the roads near Swargate and Civil Court Metro station area.

As stated in the press release, parking will not be allowed on the road between Jedhe Chowk and Bajaj statue from 7 am onwards.

The same road between Jedhe chowk and Bajaj statue will be closed for traffic during VIPs’ visits for the inauguration. Vehicles will be diverted at Jedhe Chowk to Pune Satara road. Meanwhile, the over bridge at Jedhe chowk will be open for vehicles going from Satara road to Solapur road.

The press release also mentioned that parking will not be allowed between 7 am and 4 pm from Chhatrapati Shivaji statue to Kamgar Putala and from Tofkhana chowk to Ranade Path in Shivajinagar court area.
