Ticket to Bollywood

City-based engineering student Ashitee Desai was selected to be a part of a five-minute film opposite actor Ranbir Kapoor. Shot at Ramoji Film City,Hyderabad,Desai was selected through an audition conducted on Facebook by Nissan. The film,called India’s New Star of India,received applications from people across the country. Twenty participants were shortlisted to work for the film. Desai had applied for the same last October with a short dance clip. When asked about her experience of shooting with Ranbir Kapoor,Desai said,“Ranbir’s energy while filming was contagious. I now know the high that actors get while on sets.” Director and choreographer Ahmed Khan directed the short film. Nissan received auditions through Facebook video submissions and through live auditions in malls across Pune,Mumbai,Delhi,Bangalore,Chandigarh,Kolkata,Ahmedabad,Hyderabad and Aurangabad. The film is scheduled to première on March 1,2012 in Mumbai.
