Three killed in highway crash

All the three occupants of a car died after the vehicle jumped the median on the Mumbai-Pune highway near Lonavala and rammed into a bus in the opposite lane.

All the three occupants of a car died after the vehicle jumped the median on the Mumbai-Pune highway near Lonavala and rammed into a bus in the opposite lane. Mukund Bhalchandra Joglekar, Nikhil Mahesh Risbud and his father Mahesh Balwant Risbud,all residents of Talegaon Dabhade,died in the accident.

They were travelling from Bhushi Dam to their residence. Police Inspector Kailas Deshmane of Lonavala rural police station said,“The vehicle was returning from Bhushi Dam when the driver lost control. The vehicle overturned,jumped the median and rammed into a bus in the opposite lane.” He said all the three died on the spot. “The car was badly mangled. The victims were trapped inside and it took us half an hour to extricate the bodies.” said Deshmane. The officer said no one in the bus was injured.
