A complaint has been filed with Cantonment police against unidentified persons for an attempted a theft at the Central Bank of India ATM on M G Road.
According to the complaint filed on Friday by Sunilkumar Bandopadhyay,senior manager of the bank in Camp area,the incident took place around 11.30 pm on October 30. The security guard had gone for a brief break when unknown persons allegedly tried to break open the ATM. The incident came to light later when money was being loaded into the ATM machine.
Havaldar B B Pardeshi of Cantonment police station is investigating the case.
City police meet private security firms
The Pune police recently conducted a meeting of private security firms during which Joint Commissioner of Police Rajendra Sonawane asked the firms to upgrade quality of their work force. Sonawane said that private security guards were not being given proper training. Even basics like whistle,baton and torch were not provided to the guards.
