I have come here, visited various colleges and interacted with a lot of students as a part of Youth for Human Rights. Pune is very close to my heart, and I really feel a connect with this city’s young vibe,” says actor Sheena Chohan. The Kolkata-based actor is relatively new to the big screen, but she has already worked with National Award winning director Jayaraj for the applauded Malayalam movie,The Train, opposite actor Mammootty. When asked if working for a movie being shot in a different language was a hurdle for her,she says,”Well,I was a little nervous at first, because this was my first film as well. But Jayaraj made me feel comfortable, and the best part of my character in that movie is that most of what she is feeling is conveyed by her eyes. She is a very expressive character. Working with a superstar like Mammootty was a great learning experience”.

Chohan has just finished the filming of her latest Hindi movie,Patralekha, which is currently in post-production. This movie is also being directed by a National Award winning director,Buddhadev Dasgupta. The story for the movie is inspired by the poems of Rabindranath Tagore. “This project is very different, because the story is moulded from a poem,” she says. Besides movies and modelling,Chohan is very interested in sports, particularly the country’s favourite – cricket. Which is why she is here to host a meet and greet between the local IPL team,Pune Warriors India, and the people of Pune. She has also previously hosted the first edition of the Bangladesh Premier League.
