The Dancing Curve
On Sunday,200 participants wowed a crowd of over 600 people with their dance moves. Kirti’s Dancing Curve organised an event around the theme: ‘Learn Dancing To Stay Fit’ at the Symbiosis Auditorium in Viman Nagar. The youngest performer was three and a half years old while the eldest was 70 years old. They danced to Bollywood and western tunes,the most popular being It’s the time to disco from Kal Ho Na Ho and Criminal from Ra.One. The institute is managed by 24-year-old Kirti Advani who is backed by an experience of 10 years in this field. “Dance is not just enjoyable but a fun way to keep fit,” she says,adding,”We encourage all styles of dance from jazz,hip-hop to salsa and contemporary.” The academy’s next event is slated for January 5.
A Global Evening
On Sunday,the ‘Global Village’ initiative by youth-run organisation AIESEC in association with Panchshil Realty,wowed shoppers at Phoenix Marketcity. The evening turned out to be a celebration of different cultures,traditions,food and heritage as it brought together close to 15 countries under one roof. From Jiving by AIESECers,a Country Quiz,a display of coins,types of coffees and chocolates,coffee mugs,wrist bands,and so on from different countries,group dance performances,a Flash Mob,trainee interviews to Face Painting,there were several events for people to participate in. Ramone,a representative of Brazil,said that he was extremely overwhelmed by the excitement of the crowd in Pune and felt great pride in representing his country in India. He could hardly stop raving about Indian hospitality. Rajiv Malla,centre director,Phoenix Marketcity,said,Such an event lays the foundation to enhance and build on the achievement of young people in bridging cultural diversities. This was our way of connecting with the global community and embracing other cultures.

After a run of successful seasons on television,Chicks on Flicks is set to take on the digital world. This Hollywood film review show on Pix will now have a special edition of the show exclusively on Facebook. The show tells you whether to catch or trash a film. The hosts – Ira Dubey and Neha Sareen – will now interact with people via the social networking site. Sunder Aaron,business head,Pix,said,The show will be very current since reviews will be shared the same day as the theatrical release of the films through Facebook.
