As the un-aided private colleges affiliated to the University of Pune have not yet forwarded the benefits of the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission to the college teachers and non-teaching staff, teachers in these colleges have demanded vice chancellor R K Shevgaonkar to direct these colleges to implement the recommendations of the sixth pay commission as soon as possible.

A delegation of teachers of unaided private colleges led by senate member Atul Bagul met Shevgaonkar on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum to the vice chancellor in this regard.

“While aided colleges have already carried out the pay fixation and got it approved by the university, unaided private colleges have not yet taken the initiative,” said Bagul.

“Some un-aided colleges have not even given the benefits of fifth pay commission that are pending for 15 years. Colleges where salary is approved according to the fifth pay commission, arrears have not yet paid,” he said.

Bagul claimed that the vice chancellor assured the delegation that he would look into the matter and take the required action.
