The longest day in the calendar,is celebrated as ‘Fete de la Musique’ across the world. Every year in Pune,the Max Muller Bhavan and the Alliance Française make sure that the fete finds a reflection in the city too. The music day,which fell on a Sunday this year,saw more than 400 music enthusiasts at the Max Mueller Bhavan to experience various forms and genres music. The evening began with a performance by sarod player,Avinash Joshi,followed by a solo rendition by Payal John. Micheal Thomson and his band brought in some blues tunes with their interesting compositions. The students of Alliance Française gave a spirited performance of popular French numbers and the students of the Max Muller Bhavan brought the crowd to their feet with their band ‘What Google Can’t Find’. Performance by Ma Faiza was enthralling.
