Student kills self after poor result

A Class 12 student of Kendriya Vidyalaya,Lohegaon,was found hanging at his residence on Tuesday night. Police suspect that Anupam Prakash Kumar,18,of Sathe Wasti,Dhanori Road,committed suicide after he fared badly in the preliminary examinations conducted by the school.

Anupam’s father,now retired,used to work for the Air Force . “Anupam was a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Lohegaon. He committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence around 11.30 pm. After primary investigations,we suspect that he was depressed after scoring low marks in the preliminary examinations,” said police sub inspector Mahindrekar,who is investigating the case.

“We are speaking to his family members to know if there were any other reasons for him to end his life,” the officer said.

Sagarika Arun Bhat,19,a student of Sinhagad Engineering College,has gone missing after she left her home in Dahanukar Colony,Kothrud,to collect the examresult on Tuesday morning. Her parents have lodged a missing report with the Kothrud police.
