The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) plans to introduce an online process to attain transcripts, degree certificates and other academic documents, making the process much faster than before.

“Until now, students would have to apply online and submit its printed copy, along with other documents, at the student facilitation centre. This was a cumbersome and time-taking process and outstation students would have to travel to the university for every document,” said Rahul Sasane, a student activist from SPPU.

This would sometimes even lead to delays in students’ further study plans as most of them would miss out on deadlines for scholarships and other opportunities.
