Pune’s SPPU announces extension of deadline to apply for 111 vacant posts, to add 4% parallel reservation for PwD

The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has extended the deadline till February 16 to apply for the 111 teaching and non-teaching positions. The university is also expected to publish a revised advertisement with 4 per cent parallel reservation for candidates with disabilities.

The university, which has approximately 250 vacancies, opened applications for 111 posts across humanities, science, arts, commerce and administrative departments on January 1. The earlier deadline to apply for the vacancies was January 30 which has now been extended.

On January 25, the state government issued directions for the strict implementation of parallel reservations which grants 30 per cent seats to women, 4 per cent to people with disabilities, 5 per cent to athletes and so on.

Pro vice-chancellor of the SPPU Parag Kalkar said, “Women and other categories had been mentioned already, so we just need to add the provision for people with disabilities. An updated advertisement is expected to be published today (January 31).”
