Spanish fiesta

In the beginning,tapas consisted of a simple olive or almonds fried in olive oil and sprinkled with salt and served while still hot. These were the original tapas and the simplest of all. As the tradition took roots,tapas became more elaborate,with each region in Spain developing its own version of the dish. On Wednesday evening,connoisseurs took their pick from Pasta Y Langonstinos (Prawn and Pasta Salad),Salchichas de pollo picantes (Spicy chicken sausages),Alas de pollo con pure de patatas (Chicken winglets and mash potato),among a whole range of tapas. For the vegetarians,there were quite a few dishes on offer,including Xampinyones al ajillo con vino tinto (Mushrooms in red wine and garlic),Croquetas de espinacas (Spinach croquettes) and Berenjenas gratinadas (Baked aubergine).

To add to the exclusively Spanish ambience,live salsa and rock music played on and provided guests a taste of both music and food which were authentic Spanish. Obsession Latina,a Columbian Band on its maiden visit to India,took guests on a Spanish escapade,when they played some of the most famous compositions from Spain,Mexico and Colombia. Obsession Latina,is of Colombian origin and consists of members Camilo,Alex,Anna and Diana; they have till now been performing only in Columbia and Europe. The band offers songs with catchy hooks and infectious melodies where their sound ranges from Salsa to Latin Rock.
