Renowned film actor Boman Irani on Saturday inaugurated the Wisdom World School started by Vishwakarma Purple Education Trust at Wakad. Speaking about the same he says,“I was educated time and again. I think that some of the noblest qualities a man can have are respect for peers and integrity. I believe that Wisdom World will inculcate that in all its students and make them grow as people”,he added. The school already boasts of a strength of 312 students and has started on the June 8. Jessica Simoes,the principal of Wisdom World giving a gist about the school says,“I was approached by the Agarwal brothers and we started this initiative to provide good quality education to every child who deserves it. The students are admitted after evaluating them on their merit,character and intellectual promise.” Affiliated to the Indian Council of Secondary Education,the school has classes from KG to class 10.“The school aims at providing world class quality education and will enable the students to face the challenges of the 21st century”,says Shravan Agarwal of the Vishwakarma Group. The founders also plan to open such schools in the areas where quality education is not available.

Launch Pad
The launch of G2 (Global Gujrati) magazine on saturday also saw the Renaissance Avatar art exhibition by Daxa Khandwala at the Radisson Hotel,Kharadi. Khandwala a contemporary artist showcased her collection The Renniasance Avatar of renowned Artists like Leonardi da Vinci,Ingres,Tie Polo,Boucher,Fragonard,John William Waterhouse and others. “It is an attempt to revive the rich Golden Era of art,reflecting the old European culture”,says Daxa speaking about it. G2 aims to promote the works of artists in the city through such events. Anu Aga,Director of Thermax Limited was the chief guest on this occasion and says that she loves art in any form and that she was impressed by the two different forms of art at the venue.

Play-ful antics
Mrunmayee Deshpande and Siddharth Chandekar ( ZENDA fame) are coming together to present two one act plays Popati Choukat and Amchyawar Kon Prem Karnar this weekend in the city. Organised by Dreams2Reality (D2R) it will showcase two plays originally written by legendary writers like Vidyadhar Pundalik and Vijay Tendulkar and performed by the team of Nirmaaya. Popati Choukat,which has won a number of accolades and awards like P L Deshpande Karandak and Sawai Karandak, has received praise from industry professionals and veterans.The second play was the first ever-published literature of Vijay Tendulkar. A short story titled Amchyawar Kon Prem Karnar will be presented in theatrical format. The performance will be held on June 20 from 1 pm to 4 pm at Bharat Natya Mandir.
