Dancing to tunes
The Grand finale of Just Dance,the dance competition that was held on March 21 saw the winners of the five categories being crowned by judges Reshma Gajjar,Ritu Soni Kumar and Sooraj Katuj. The event,which was organised by Pinwheel Events,featured six different categories under which dancers from across the city performed. The winners of the six categories were Rohini Shukla and Jeevan Sakhre in Salsa,Nikita Patel and Kamal Jangid in Jive,Sheetal Orse in the Bollywood Individual Category,Rohini Shukla and Nikita Patel in the Bollywood Group Category,The Smooth Freakers- Omer Ahmed,Hasan Abdul,Amir Ariah in the Hip Hop Group Category and Karan Gill in the Hip Hop Individual Category.
Legendary tributes
The Maharashtra Cultural Centre along with Samhita will be organising the show Onjalit Swar Tuzecha to pay a musical tribute to acclaimed Gyaanpeeth Award winner,Marathi poet Vinda Karandikar,who passed away recently. The show has been conceptualised,scripted and written by professor Swati Dikshit who will also recite the poetry,along with Dheeresh Joshi. Composer Chaitanya Kunte has scored the music for Vindas poems while Anuradha Marathe and Ajay Purkar will be rendering them. Swapna Datar will be providing the accompaniment on the violin,while Aditya Athalye accompanies on the tabla and Chaitanya Kunte on the harmonium. This show will be held at the Sudarshan Rangamanch,on Thursday March 25 at 6.30pm.
