Musical treat
Swaramayee Gurukul,an institution of the Dr Prabha Atre Foundation,which is a non-profit making socio-cultural organization,is successfully completing its sixth year of musical service in Pune. The landmark was celebrated by organising a lecture-demonstration yesterday by noted Kathak danseuse Maneesha Sathe. A Hindustani classical vocal recital by noted vocalist of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharaanaa Shruti Sadolikar Katkar will be held today at 6 pm on the Gurukul premises. Katkar received training from her father Pt Wamanrao Sadolikar and Pt Gulubhai Jasdanwala,obtained a Master’s degree from the SNDT Women’s University,Mumbai and is proficient in singing khayaal and lighter varieties like thumri,daadraa,tappa,bhajan,Haveli sangeet and Marathi natya sangeet. The programme is open to all.

You can witness the talents,passions and thoughts of children find expression in a whole new form,when Atelier Boutique holds the exclusive Sunday Bazaar for kids on May 3. With participation from children aged as young as three and by young adults aged 16,the event is an ideal opportunity to showcase their hobbies in music,arts,poetry and other tangible or intangible forms.

The highlights of the Bazaar will be children performing for the first time on the guitar,keyboard,flute and creating paintings and artworks with acrylic on canvas,with water colours and particpating in clay-modelling.
