The art of dancing
Shiamak Davar’s Institute for the Performing Arts (SDIPA) has planned a Style Sampler for all dance enthusiasts in Pune. Commencing on August 31,the Style Sampler is a six-day event,where students can learn the exciting Hip-Hop and Krumping dance forms at two venues – Camp and Prabhat Road. The workshop,open for kids and adults,is a surefire way to learn some of the trendiest moves of the two most popular dance styles today. The workshop will be conducted by specially-trained dancers from SDIPA; those interested in enrolling can get in touch with the nearest SDIPA branch.

Book-ed for life
The Federation of Indian Publishers,based in New Delhi,has announced awards of excellence for the Best Literature Production and city-based Ameya Publication House has bagged two of these awards. There’s No Such Thing as a Self-Made Man (English),the autobiography of businessman P P Chabaria,founder of Finolex Group of Industries was adjudged first in the General Books category; Chalte Chalte (Marathi),written by Veena Patil,chairperson of Kesari Tours stood first in the Paperbacks Regional Language Category. Ulhas Latkar,head of Ameya Publication House will receive the award on September 3 at Pragati Maidan,New Delhi at the presentation ceremony.
