Age no bar
A 10-year-old may not possibly know the difference between a contemporary or traditional art piece, except for the colours and the shapes. However,it seems Haris Imtiyaz Khan, lovingly addressed as Junior M F Hussain at Aperture India Art Gallery,is different. The young artist recently exhibited his contemporary art collection under the name Master’s Stroke at the Aperture India Art Gallery. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mayor Rajlakshmi Bhonsale. This is the first exhibition where he has displayed his contemporay art. “He used to make portraits of Mahatma Gandhi earlier and has recently taken up contemporary art. His father is a poet and he listens to his poetry and also to Mirza Ghalib and then he tries to put the emotions on canvas. Therefore, most of his paintings are a mixture of pain and hope,” says Huma Khan, his mother.
