Martyrs vision
Gagan Damama Bajyo,a play based on Bhagat Singhs dreams will be presented on April 25 at 844 Agarkar Road,Sri Mahavir Jain Vidyalaya, next to bmcc at 7.30 pm. The play highlights the fact that though the British rule has ended, yet another form of tyranny has begun. Written by Piyush Mishra, directed by Abhijeet choudhary and assisted by Dhanashree Heblikar with 20 characters, the play traces the relevance of Bhagat Singh’s ideology in present times. Though a revolutionary,Bhagat Singh wasn’t carried away by his extreme ideas. He was a visionary as well. Though he shared the Mahatma’s vision of an independent India, the differences on the means to attain it always persisted. With songs like Pagdi sambhal jatta,Sarfaroshi ki tamanna and Rang de basanti chola, the play raises a question- Is this the India of Bhagat Singh’s dreams?
